Rededication & Blessing of the 1901 Immanuel Lutheran Bell

As promised… here are some photos of the rededication and blessing of the 1901 Immanuel Lutheran Giddings bell. It sure looks nice!

After the end of the service, folks got to write verses and messages inside the addition. I made sure there was one verse in Wendish: “W spočatku bě słowo, a słowo bě pola Boha, a Bóh bě słowo.” (That’s John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”)

Grant then, O God, where’er men roam,
That, when the church-bells are ringing,
Many in saving faith may come
Where Christ His message is bringing:
“I know Mine own, Mine own know Me;
Ye, not the world, My face shall see.
My peace I leave with you.” Amen.
