Today the South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department held its 43rd annual barbecue. I know I said something similar a few weeks back after we attended the Winchester Area Volunteer Fire Department’s fish fry, but seeing everybody turn out to support folks like this who volunteer their time to help their community is just fantastic!

Well, we had another great afternoon at the ballpark today in La Grange. The Jackrabbits fought hard but ultimately lost 7-3 to the Shiner Clippers. That was disappointing, but it’s hard to go wrong with Sunday afternoon baseball! This is unfortunately the end of the season for the Jackrabbits, but I’m already looking forward to
